FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN - LEVEL II (Fire Alarm)

JOB SUMMARY

As a Field Service Technician, you will work with some of the largest and most successful companies in the world and will receive top-notch training on industry-leading fire alarm systems and fire suppression equipment. Our level 2 Techs perform inspections and testing on both fire alarm and clean-agent fire suppression systems and assist with installation.

This position is remote, working from home with reporting responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Embodies the company mission to provide protection for people, property, and the environment.
  • Contacts customers to schedule service appointments.
  • Performs inspections and testing on fire alarm and fire suppression systems per OPS work instructions.
  • Records inspection and test results in the company's electronic inspection program.
  • Responds to emergency service requests and takes appropriate action.
  • Performs troubleshooting, repairs, and replacements of system equipment.
  • Oversees OPS personnel in coordinating service activities.
  • Reviews inspection and test results with customers.
  • Conducts training with customers on fire system functionality.
  • Assists with installation and commissioning under supervision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least two years of experience servicing fire alarm and special hazard fire suppression systems required.
  • Experience reading blueprints required.
  • Module-level troubleshooting experience required.
  • Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred.
  • NICET certification in Fire Alarm / Special Hazard preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturers such as Kidde, Fenwal, Notifier, Fike, FCI preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet usage.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based software and mobile applications on iPads.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-directed and autonomous work capability.
  • Customer service mindset demonstrated.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Remote position, with deployment from home to local sites for installs, service, or repairs.
  • Company-provided vehicle, tools, technology, and equipment.
  • Occasional on-call days and overtime for unscheduled service needs.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and crawl into tight or awkward spaces required.
  • Up to 25% overnight travel may be required.
