Regional Service Manager - Western US

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for Demand Field Service in Process Automation Energy Industries Service. DCS Demand Field Service Technicians perform services following ABB standards, quality, and safety guidelines, working closely with customers and ABB teams as the technical point of contact to deliver quality service.

Based in San Francisco, CA, or Irvine, CA, you will work independently and as part of a team, depending on customer and contract needs. The work model is remote, contributing to the Process Automation Energy Industries division.

You will mainly be accountable for:

  1. Providing site service to ensure safe and efficient plant operation using the ABB 800xA Distributed Control System.
  2. Handling all periodic, routine, preventive maintenance, and shutdown support, with additional support from ABB Technical and Advanced Services as needed.
  3. Troubleshooting low to medium complexity issues related to hardware and software of the distributed control system and managing technical support requests to optimize system performance.
  4. Maintaining customer database by logging calls and support provided.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience or a combination of education, military experience, and accomplishments.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft, networking, cybersecurity, and ABB 800xA DCS is a plus. Formal training and mentorship will be provided.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, and willing to travel overnight up to 80%.
  • Experience in process automation, system maintenance, configuration, and process control is preferred.
  • Strong commitment to excellence, communication, problem-solving, teamwork, customer focus, and professionalism.
  • Fluent English, valid driver's license, and legal work authorization in the US required.
