Job summary

Sysco in Kentucky seeks an Operations leader to supervise Delivery staff, ensure DOT/OSHA compliance, and maintain safety within the department. You will manage schedules, budgets, assets, and productivity while coordinating with Sales and Marketing to resolve delivery issues.

The role requires 1–3 years related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a preference for Business/Supply Chain education. A CDL and HazMat are bonus. This is a on-site delivery leadership position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 2- or 4-year college degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management or similar major preferred.
• 1–3 years related experience and/or training.
• HazMat certification preferred (Sysco).
• Valid Class A CDL meeting company standards preferred (Sysco).

Responsibilities

• Supervises the daily work and safety of Delivery Associates, including adherence to SOPs and planned routes.
• Ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (DOT, OSHA).
• Manages labor hours and consumable supplies within budget.
• Prepares work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed.
• Oversees selection and use of company assets in the Delivery department.
• Coordinates repairs with proper departments as necessary.
• Reviews delivery functions and productivity reporting.
• Suggests efficiency ideas and cost reduction measures for delivery changes.
• Interprets trains and enforces company policies, including food safety and record keeping.
• Communicates with Sales Management and Marketing Associates to resolve customer issues.
• Visits customer locations to address issues and assess delivery difficulty.
• Maintains associate relations with regular department or pre-shift meetings.
• Keeps open communication channels with associates and answers questions.
• Monitors associate morale and engagement initiatives.
• Coordinates with Safety department on training, observations and safety inspections.
• Makes recommendations for disciplinary action where required.
• Executes staff selection, development and performance reviews.
• Performs duties of supervised associates as needed.
