Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Delivery Driver Lead/Trainer for the Richmond area. The role involves onboarding new drivers, mentoring on safety and company policies, and ensuring timely deliveries to customers. You will conduct site visits, collaborate with warehouse teams, and support post-accident analyses to improve performance.

The position emphasizes training, safety, and customer service with opportunities for offsite development. Valid CDL A and English proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL Class A license with required endorsements and DOT qualifications.
• Six months of commercial driving experience or three months in food/beverage delivery preferred.
• Ability to read and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Conduct classroom onboarding for new drivers.
• Participate in Safety Performance Team activities.
• Train and mentor new drivers on policies and monitor compliance/performance.
• Perform customer site visits to assess delivery feasibility.
• Collaborate with Night Warehouse Supervisors on safety and demonstrations.
• Assist in post-accident ride-alongs to identify root causes and retraining needs.
• Engage in offsite training and development opportunities.
• Complete all mandated trainings, including Driver Onboarding.
• Safely drive vehicles to customers and meet delivery times.
• Unload products safely using pallet jacks or by hand and store correctly.
• Verify delivery accuracy with customers and obtain signatures.
• Handle collections/payments from customers when applicable.
• Provide professional customer service to enhance client experience.
