Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Driver Lead/Trainer to onboard new drivers, reinforce safety standards, and mentor the delivery team. The role includes hands-on driver training, safety collaboration with warehouse supervisors, and ensuring timely customer deliveries.

The ideal candidate holds a CDL Class A and meets DOT qualifications, with experience in food/beverage delivery. Strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience onboarding drivers and maintaining safety standards.
• Ability to train and monitor driver performance.
• Knowledge of FMCSA Clearinghouse requirements.
• Valid CDL Class A with DOT qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct classroom onboarding for new drivers.
• Participate in Safety Performance Team to keep safety central.
• Train and mentor drivers on policies and monitor performance.
• Visit customer sites to assess delivery feasibility.
• Coordinate with Night Warehouse Supervisors on safety and visual aids.
• Perform post-accident ride-alongs to identify root causes.
• Complete mandated trainings including Driver Onboarding.
• Safely drive trucks and meet delivery times.
• Unload products with equipment and store properly.
• Verify delivery accuracy with customers and obtain signatures.
• Handle customer payments when applicable.
• Provide professional customer service to enhance client experience.
