Job summary

US Foods Salem, VA is seeking a Full-time Delivery Driver Lead/Trainer to onboard and develop the driver team. You will lead classroom trainings, coach on safety and policy, and collaborate with operations to ensure timely deliveries.

You must hold a CDL A, be at least 21, pass FMCSA Clearinghouse, and bring experience with commercial driving. This role emphasizes safety, hands-on coaching, and building trusted relationships with customers.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have CDL Class A with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.
• Minimum six months commercial driving experience, or three months in food/beverage delivery.
• Must read/communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead classroom onboarding for new drivers.
• Train and mentor drivers on policies, procedures, and performance.
• Participate in Safety Performance Team to emphasize safety.
• Perform customer site visits to assess delivery feasibility.
• Drive trucks safely to customers and meet delivery times.
• Unload products with pallet jack or by hand and verify delivery with customers.
• Handle collections/payments from customers when applicable.
• Conduct post-accident ride-alongs to identify root causes and retraining needs.
• Attend offsite training and development opportunities.
• Complete mandated trainings including Driver Onboarding.
