Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Pickup and Delivery Clerk to join our OD Family Culture. You will work with drivers to ensure paperwork for daily runs and support the dispatchers with administrative tasks.

The role emphasizes great customer service, accuracy, and timely handling of bills of lading, receipts, and shipments. Evening shift, full-time; benefits include health, 401k, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) preferred.
• 1 year of office/operations experience in transportation is a plus.
• Experience with handheld scanners and AS400 is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Print drivers’ manifests and provide hazardous materials of lading to the appropriate personnel.
• Scan bills of lading and driver receipts into system for billers to access.
• Handle and process checks, CODs or cash as needed and store money safely.
• Verify delivery receipts and signatures.
• Verify and record any cash or check payments.
• Enter exception.
• Assist operations by monitoring and following up on various reports (EDI, spot trailer, etc.).
• Assist in OS&D functions including free astray and undelivered freight reports.
