Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is hiring a Line Haul Clerk to support daily administrative duties and deliver strong customer service to internal and external customers. The role includes processing freight bills, maintaining driver logs, and coordinating with dispatch to ensure on-time shipments.

The position requires a high school diploma and 1 year in office/ops, with familiarity in AS400 and handheld scanners. OD offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of office/operations experience, preferably in transportation.
• Experience with handheld scanners and AS400 preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented and accurate with data.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones promptly and courteously; provide customer service including scheduling and tracking shipments.
• Create freight bills, bills of lading and HazMat paperwork.
• Maintain Excel spreadsheets, Line Haul driver logs, MVIs and violations; review accuracy.
• Assist Central Dispatch with communication to Line Haul Drivers at the service center.
• Organize manifests for Line Haul Drivers and communicate assignments.
• Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
