Job summary

Farmers Furniture is seeking a dedicated collections associate to locate, notify, and secure payments from customers with delinquent accounts for our retail stores. You will handle payments, document communications, and assist with potential repossession processes under store supervision.

Responsibilities include contacting customers by text/phone, reviewing terms of sales, maintaining CRM records, and supporting credit investigations as needed. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; six months experience in payment collections or general office procedures, or equivalent training/education.
• Valid State Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Sends reminders and notices to customers to collect delinquent payments.
• Contacts customers by text or phone to review terms and determine reasons for overdue payments.
• Documents all correspondence with customers regarding accounts.
• Receives payments and posts them to customer accounts.
• Maintains and balances assigned cash drawer; ensures security when unattended.
• Travels to customers' homes to collect payments as needed; assists with repossessions with approval.
• Prepares paperwork before initiating legal action for severely delinquent accounts.
• Initiates credit investigations by phone under the direction of the Credit Manager.
• Logs daily, weekly, and monthly activity.
