Job summary

Farmers Furniture is seeking a Collections Specialist to locate, notify, and secure payments from customers with delinquent accounts. The role includes contacting customers by text/phone, documenting all communications, and posting payments to accounts.

You will travel to customer homes when needed, assist with repossessions with manager approval, prepare pre-litigation paperwork, and log activities in CRM. A valid driver’s license and basic office experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; six months experience in payment collections or general office procedures; or any combination of training, experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License.
• Data Utilization: ability to review, categorize, prioritize, and analyze data.
• Human Interaction: ability to guide, assist, and interpret procedures and standards.

Responsibilities

• Sends text messages, mails form letters and/or late charge notices to encourage payment of delinquent accounts.
• Confers with customers by text or telephone to discuss overdue payments and terms.
• Documents all correspondence and attempted correspondence with customers concerning accounts.
• Receives payments and posts amount paid to customer’s account.
• Maintains and balances cash drawer; key kept by Store Manager and drawer is secured.
• Travels to customers’ homes to collect payments and assists with repossessions with approval.
• Prepares paperwork prior to legal action for severely delinquent accounts.
• Initiates credit investigations by telephone for new credit applicants under supervision.
• Logs daily, weekly, and monthly work activity.
• Logs service requests into PQA and schedules merchandise repairs for customers.
• Assists customers on sales floor; participates in floor rotation and CRM updates.
• Maintains sales quotas as set by Store Manager.
