Job summary

Farmers Home Furniture seeks a Collections/Customer Service Associate to locate, contact, and secure payments from delinquent accounts. You will handle communications, log activities, and assist customers on the sales floor while maintaining CRM records.

The role involves visiting customers, processing payments, and supporting repossession efforts when approved. A valid driver’s license is required and at least six months in collections or office procedures is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months experience in payment collections or general office procedures.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Sends text messages, mails letters and/or late charge notices to encourage payment of delinquent accounts.
• Confers with customers by text or telephone to determine reason for overdue payment and review terms of sales or credit contract.
• Documents all correspondence and attempted correspondence with customers concerning accounts.
• Receives payments and posts amount paid to customer’s account.
• Maintains and balances cash drawer and ensures security when unattended.
• Travels to customers’ homes to collect late payments; assists with repossessions with approval.
• Prepares paperwork prior to legal action for severely delinquent accounts.
• Initiates credit investigations by telephone under direction of Credit Manager.
• Logs details of work activities daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Logs customer service requests into PQA and schedules merchandise repairs.
• Assist customers on the sales floor and update CRM.
