Job summary

Farmers Home Furniture is seeking a dedicated Collections Associate to locate, notify, and secure payments from customers with delinquent accounts. You will handle outreach, document communications, and post payments while maintaining the cash drawer securely.

The role involves traveling to customers’ homes as needed and assisting with repossessions under management approval. Strong communication, organization, and basic office skills are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; six months experience in payment collections or office procedures.
• Valid State Driver’s License required.
• Ability to operate a computer, CRM, and basic office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Sends text messages, mails form letters and late charge notices to encourage payment.
• Confer with customers by text or phone to determine reason for overdue payment and review terms.
• Document all correspondence and attempts with customers concerning accounts.
• Receive payments and post amounts paid to accounts.
• Maintain and balance the cash drawer and keep it secure when unattended.
• Travel to customers’ homes to collect on late payments and assist with repossessions when needed.
• Prepare paperwork prior to initiating legal action for severely delinquent accounts.
• Log details of work activities daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Operate standard office equipment and software as needed.
