Job summary

PCC Community Markets in Madison Valley, Seattle, is seeking a Back of House Deli Steward to support deli kitchen operations, including cooking, merchandising, production planning, and cost analysis. You will mentor deli staff and help maintain exceptional customer service standards as part of a collaborative team.

The role emphasizes training, supervision, and coordination with the deli management team to ensure safety, sanitation, and efficient operations across PCC locations.

Qualifications

• Customer service excellence is required and demonstrated in prior roles.
• Experience with cooking techniques and production cooking in a high-volume kitchen.
• Understanding of cooking methods, natural ingredients, and alternative foods.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends and adapt to shifting schedules.
• Willingness to transfer between PCC locations as needed for staffing.
• Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to multitask consistently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven leadership, teambuilding, and effective communication skills.
• Able to meet physical demands (standing, bending, lifting 10–50 lbs).
• Current Food Worker Card from WA Dept of Health is required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Overview

The Back of House Deli Steward participates in Deli kitchen operations including cooking, retail merchandising, production planning, ordering and developing skills related to food cost analysis and staffing. They develop skills to provide mentorship and coaching to deli staff, including setting the standard for excellent customer service.

• Must be willing to accommodate transferring between PCC locations as needed, depending on the needs of the company
• The ability to demonstrate organizational and planning skills
• Computer knowledge and skills, including Microsoft Office products
• The ability to multitask on an ongoing basis
• Good leadership, teambuilding, and communication skills
• Must be able to meet physical demands including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion, and lifting 10 - 50lbs regularly
• A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
