Job summary

PCC Community Markets in Seattle is seeking a Deli Clerk to provide excellent customer service at the deli counter and related stations. You will prepare foods, package items, and maintain sanitation and safety standards in the deli area.

Responsibilities include hot bar maintenance, merchandising, packaging, and potential supervision of staff. Weekend availability and physical stamina are required; Washington State Food Worker Card is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service.
• Available to work a variety of shifts, including weekends.
• Previous production cooking experience preferred.
• Able to work in a fast pace kitchen environment.
• Familiarity with specialty and prepared foods.
• Excellent communication, organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to meet physical demands including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion and lifting 10-40lbs regularly.
• A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Performs packaging duties.
• May be in charge of production tasks.
• May oversee other kitchen staff as assigned.
• Participates in recipe development and recipe costing.
• May perform ordering responsibilities.
