We are looking for a dedicated DELI/LEAD CLERK to create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. The role involves establishing and maintaining a safe and clean environment, achieving sales and profit goals, and supervising all functions within the Deli department. Support the daily operations of the Deli, promote excellent customer service, and demonstrate core values such as respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Promote trust and respect among associates.
  • Communicate effectively with team members about company, department, and specific job information.
  • Collaborate and promote teamwork to meet store goals.
  • Set performance goals and empower associates to achieve them.
  • Train and develop staff, participate in performance reviews.
  • Adhere to all legal and company guidelines.
  • Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Prepare deli items, slice meats and cheeses, and offer samples.
  • Inform customers of specials and recommend products.
  • Operate deli equipment safely and according to guidelines.
  • Ensure food safety and proper temperature maintenance.
  • Assist in budgeting, inventory, and financial reviews.
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed and report safety issues or accidents.
Qualifications

Minimum: Effective communication, basic math skills, ability to handle stressful situations.

Desired: High school diploma or equivalent, management or retail experience, deli experience.
