DELI/LEAD CLERK (Finance)

Minimum Requirements:

- Slice deli meats and cheeses to customer requests using proper deli equipment.
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Inform customers of deli specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommend deli items to ensure customers get the products they want and need.
- Use all deli equipment, such as fryers, rotisseries, heat lamps, and ovens, according to company guidelines.
- Prepare foods according to food temperature logs and follow cooking instructions.
- Inform and educate department associates about current, upcoming, and special in-store promotions, especially those affecting the Deli.
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
- Assist Food Service Manager in preparing the store/department budget, profit and loss reviews, and take appropriate action on financial reports.
- Assist in planning, organizing, and supervising the inventory process.
- Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are kept.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions, notifying store management.
- Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs.
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
- Report safety risks, issues, and illegal activities, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
