DELI/LEAD CLERK (Finance)



Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Achieve sales and profit goals established for the department, and monitor and control all established quality assurance standards. Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the Deli department. Support the day-to-day functions of the Deli operations. Minimum Requirements:

Responsibilities:

  • Promote trust and respect among associates.
  • Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates.
  • Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company and store goals.
  • Establish performance goals for the department and empower associates to meet or exceed targets.
  • Train and develop associates on their job performance and participate in the performance appraisal process.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
  • Slice deli meats and cheeses to customers' requests using proper deli equipment.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
  • Inform customers of deli specials.
  • Provide customers with fresh products ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
  • Recommend deli items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
  • Use all deli equipment such as fryers, rotisseries, heat lamps, and ovens according to company guidelines.
  • Prepare foods according to temperature logs and follow cooking instructions.
  • Inform and educate associates about current, upcoming, and special in-store promotions, especially those affecting the Deli.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Assist Food Service Manager in preparing the store/department budget, profit and loss reviews, and take appropriate action on financial reports.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and supervising inventory processes.
  • Train associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
  • Report all safety risks, issues, and illegal activities, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
