DELI/LEAD CLERK (Finance)

- Slice deli meats and cheeses to customer requests using proper deli equipment.
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
- Inform customers of deli specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommend deli items to customers to meet their needs.
- Operate all deli equipment, such as fryers, rotisseries, heat lamps, and ovens, according to company guidelines.
- Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Educate associates about current, upcoming, and special in-store promotions, especially those affecting the Deli.
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
- Assist the Food Service Manager in preparing budgets, profit and loss reviews, and take appropriate actions on financial reports.
- Assist in planning, organizing, and supervising inventory processes.
- Train associates on inventory management and Computer Assisted Ordering.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep temperature logs.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs.
- Report customer or employee accidents, safety risks, or illegal activities such as theft or fraud.
