Job summary

Harris Teeter, LLC. is seeking an assistant for the DLT in the Fresh Foods department in Virginia Beach, VA. This full-time management role will supervise up to 80 associates and support the Department Manager in directing the team to deliver high-quality deli and bakery services.

You will interview, train, and guide associates, plan workloads, and help evaluate performance while ensuring safety and customer satisfaction. Benefits include group plans and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Commitment to unparalleled customer service and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to participate in and complete required training.
• Completion of Company training including onboarding, customer service network, safety, food safety, and department manager training.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties of baker/fryer, cake decorator, fresh foods clerk, and chef.
• Interviewing and training associates.
• Planning, assigning, and directing work.
• Assist in appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates.
• Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
