Job summary

Harris Teeter is hiring for a Full Time Deli Bakery Management Assistant in Fairfax, VA. The role supports the Fresh Foods Manager, supervising up to 80 associates and ensuring the department runs smoothly, safely, and to policy standards.

The candidate will interview and train staff, plan work, and participate in performance reviews while maintaining exceptional customer service and collaboration with the store team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 1–3 years related experience or training or equivalent combination
• Commitment to unparalleled customer service and strong interpersonal skills
• Willingness to participate in required training and to work with the team

Responsibilities

• Assist to manage and supervise up to 80 associates in Fresh Foods
• Assist Department Manager with direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department
• Interviewing and training associates
• Planning, assigning, and directing work
• Assist in appraising performance and addressing disciplinary actions
• Addressing customer complaints and resolving problems
