Job summary

Harris Teeter in Arlington, VA is seeking a Full Time Deli Bakery Management Assistant (DLT) to help supervise up to 80 associates in the Fresh Foods Department. This role supports the Department Manager in directing daily operations in a fast-paced retail store.

You'll assist in planning, training, evaluating performance, and resolving customer and team issues while upholding Harris Teeter policies and standards. Prior supervisory or team-lead experience in fresh foods is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Commitment to unparalleled customer service; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to participate in and successfully complete required training and to work with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
• Complete Company's training including but not limited to new hire orientation, customer service network, safety, food safety, and department manager training.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties of baker/fryer, cake decorator, fresh foods clerks, and chef.
• Interviewing and training associates.
• Planning, assigning, and directing work.
• Assist in appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates.
• Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
