Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lead and manage a team.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques.
• Effective communication, customer service and selling skills.
• Ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Accreditation as a Food Safety Manager or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Deli Bakery HMS Department in the absence of the Deli Manager and supervise HMS Associates.
• Oversee daily labor and coach associates to meet productivity goals.
• Provide leadership to promote a culture aligned with Food Lion Strategy.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Ensure excellent customer service and a positive shopping experience.
• Model outstanding customer service and use product knowledge to meet customer needs.
• Control expenses through ordering, care of supplies and equipment.
• Utilize company tools and reports (ACIS, scheduling, ordering, etc.).
• Maintain department appearance, safety, sanitation and compliance with regulations.
