Job summary

The Center for Global Development (CGD) in Washington, DC seeks a thoughtful, productive DEI and Recruitment Associate to drive our DEI initiatives and recruitment strategy. You will co-chair the DEI Committee, lead planning for CGD's Summer Delegates internship program, and partner with hiring teams to create a fair, efficient hiring process across the organization.

You will design and implement outreach to universities, expand partnerships, and help refine processes for greater equity.

Qualifications

  • Strong interest in DEI topics and current issues.
  • Mid-career level experience in managing recruitment processes and policies.
  • High emotional intelligence, empathy and humility.
  • Familiarity with internship programs, university outreach, and campus recruitment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and carry projects with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborative mindset to build internal partnerships and drive DEI work.
  • Motivation to stay productive and see tasks through to completion.
  • Experience with ATS tools (JazzHR or similar).
  • SharePoint experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage CGD's Summer Delegates Program with a robust schedule.
  • Co-chair the DEI Committee and lead discussions and resource sharing.
  • Draft/edit job descriptions and manage posting, screening, and interview coordination.
  • Partner with hiring teams to support organization-wide recruitment efforts.
  • Participate in operations team meetings across People, IT, Administration, and Finance.
  • Advocate for DEI, build internal partnerships, and drive equitable outcomes.
  • Identify trends and align projects with CGD's DEI goals.
  • Prepare DEI-related data for reporting and work with Communications to publish it.
  • Support university partnerships and expand CGD's network.
