KBR's Defense & Intel – Software Engineering Internships in Hawaii offer hands-on experience on real-world projects that support national security and advanced technology initiatives. Interns collaborate with engineers, gain exposure to analysis, simulation, and GUI development, and work toward a written and verbal presentation of findings.

The program runs for 12 weeks in Summer 2027, averaging 40 hours per week, with opportunities to learn from mentors and contribute to meaningful missions.

Formación

• Full-time student in Software Engineering or related field (e.g., Aerospace, Mechanical, Applied Physics, Mathematics).
• Strong Python and/or MATLAB proficiency for data analysis and modeling.
• Solid vector math understanding: dot/cross products, transformations, projections.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Clear verbal and written communication with high attention to detail.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze radar/sensor data; preprocess, reduce noise, and extract features; evaluate CV/image-processing algorithms.
• Assist with simulations or data-driven studies related to aerospace/mechanical concepts.
• Develop/test algorithms using vector math and coordinate transformations.
• Perform basic DSP tasks (filtering, FFT, time–frequency analysis) in MATLAB or Python.
• Contribute to GUI design for internal tools using MATLAB App Designer or Python.
• Document code, results, and methodology for team reuse.
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot software issues and iterate solutions.
• Present progress in team meetings with written summaries.
• Work independently and in a small team, taking ownership of tasks.
