Job summary

Carter Lumber in Indiana is seeking an Outside Sales Rep to grow our decking and outdoor living product lines with builders and contractors. You will identify opportunities, present products, and manage relationships from sale to delivery, including site visits, takeoffs, and accurate estimates.

Strong communication and closing skills are essential to increase sales and profitability. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of decking sales experience, ability to read blueprints and understand

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience selling decking products (wood, composite, PVC) and outdoor living products.
• Ability to cold call and grow relationships with customers.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform takeoffs with knowledge of local building codes.
• Proven track record of increasing sales and profitability.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Decision making and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develops relationships with customers and subcontractors to determine needs and provide beneficial services.
• Attain and maintain sales of all products, focused on outdoor living and decking.
• Gives presentations to builders and provides expert advice on product features and benefits.
• Do takeoffs and prepare estimates and ensure orders ship on time.
