Farmers Home Furniture is seeking a collections associate to locate, notify, and secure payments on delinquent accounts. Duties include contacting customers, documenting communications, and processing payments on accounts.

The role involves visiting customers for collections and assisting with potential repossessions, under supervision of the Store Manager and Credit Manager. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Six months experience in payment collections or general office procedures.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid State Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Sends texts and mails notices to encourage payment on delinquent accounts.
• Confer with customers by text or phone to determine reasons for overdue payment.
• Document all correspondence and attempts to collect on accounts.
• Receive payments and post to customers’ accounts.
• Maintain and balance cash drawer and secure it when unattended.
• Travel to customers’ homes as needed to collect payments; assist with repossessions with approval.
• Prepare paperwork for potential legal actions against delinquent accounts.
• Initiate credit investigations for new applicants under supervision.
• Log daily activity and respond to various reports and requests.
