Job summary

Uncommon Schools in Rochester seeks a Dean of Curriculum & Instruction to lead data-driven instruction, teacher development, and school-wide academic systems. The role collaborates with the Principal and network DCIs to drive exceptional academic gains and equitable outcomes for scholars.

The position emphasizes coaching, planning, and executing professional development across the school and region to sustain high-quality instructional practices and culture.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of teaching experience with evidence of outstanding student growth and achievement.
• Demonstrated instructional coaching capabilities that contribute to teacher growth and development.
• Strong content knowledge, across multiple gradespans or content areas.
• Bachelor's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-quality teacher professional development within the school, region, or network.
• Coach and identify high-leverage goals for instructional leaders and IL Team Meetings.
• Oversee school-wide data-driven instruction and curriculum initiatives to drive student achievement.
• Collaborate with home office and central staff to support student academic and socio-emotional development.
• Partner with Principal to align curriculum and instruction across departments.
