Job summary

Uncommon Schools seeks a Dean of Curriculum & Instruction (DCI) to lead data-driven instruction and the professional development of teachers and instructional leaders. You will work closely with the Principal and ILs across the network to drive student achievement and teacher growth.

You will coach and model instructional leadership, oversee assessment cycles, and contribute to culture initiatives while aligning with Uncommon’s mission to close the college completion gap.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of teaching experience with evidence of outstanding student growth and achievement.
• Demonstrated instructional coaching capabilities that contribute to teacher growth and development.
• Strong content knowledge across multiple grades or content areas.
• Bachelor’s Degree is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead data-driven instruction with deep analysis of student work and IA data.
• Provide real-time feedback to teachers and lead mid-year reviews.
• Plan and deliver high-quality professional development for staff.
• Collaborate with the Principal and network staff to set IL goals and lead IL team meetings.
• Oversee school-wide data response curricula and implement school improvement initiatives.
