Job Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President, Academic Affairs (VPAA), the Deanis responsible for leading faculty and sustaining astudent-centered academic culture that promotes collaboration,innovation, excellence, and integrity in teaching. This leadershipposition serves as the first level of academic administration forcredit and non-credit programming for the campus, including programdevelopment and assessment. This position is also responsible foremanning the division budget, teaching and learning assessment, andworks in concert with VPAA to recommend faculty appointments,professional development, academic student support (i.e. library,learning centers), and evaluation in adherence to college policyand procedures.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Performance Requirements*
- Assists and advises the Vice President, Academic Affairsregarding students, personnel, or resource management concerns in atimely manner
- Establishes and follows through on a course of action for self orothers to assure accomplishment of assigned objectives at the levelexpected for the position
- Ensures fiscal responsibility in the development and managementof the schedule of classes and resource management in assignedbudgets; monitors spending and approves expenditures according toestablished policies and procedures
- Collaborates with secondary school partners to coordinate courseofferings and other partnership initiatives
- Collaborates with university partners in support of initiativessuch as articulation agreements
- Directs and manages course schedules and teaching assignmentsfollowing the College's policies and procedures
- Supports faculty excellence in instruction to ensure studentsuccess
- Collaborates with instructional leaders throughout the College oninitiatives and operations
- Tracks and analyzes student performance, enrollments, andlearning outcomes to make informed decisions regarding the statusof academic programs and resource management (e.g., personnel andclassroom resources)
- Follows the College's policies and procedures to coordinateprogram compliance and assessment efforts
- Leads in addressing Southern Association of Colleges and SchoolsCommission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements foraccreditation
- Authorizes or denies student petitions, including coursesubstitutions, prerequisite overrides, and grade changes
General Supervision and Management
- Supervises, orients, mentors, assigns, and monitors duties andresponsibilities of all faculty, instructional leaders, andstaff
- Recruits and recommends qualified faculty and staff
- Ensures evaluation and support of faculty, instructional leadersand staff to promote student success; develops and managesperformance improvement plans in collaboration with supervisors andHuman Resources
- Recommends faculty for promotion in rank, tenure, re-employment,and faculty development leave
Service Excellence
- Participates on behalf of the College in external communityorganizations and associations as assigned to support the essentialperformance requirements
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, andfollows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of theworksite
- Completes all required training and professional developmentsessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
- Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of theCollege
Supervision
- Works under the general supervision of the Vice President,Academic Affairs

Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree
- Three (3) years' full-time teaching experience in a creditcurriculum at the post- secondary level
- Three (3) years' working experience in leadership of curriculumand instruction
- Three (3) years' experience supervising (e.g., managing,evaluating the performance of others)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in business administration, management, or aclosely related field
- At least five (5) years of experience in higher educationteaching and administration
- At least three (3) years in a progressively responsibleleadership role, such as department chair, associate dean, ordean
- At least one (1) year of demonstrated experience in strategicplanning, including developing, implementing, and evaluating new orrevised academic, workforce, or career and technical educationprograms
- At least one (1) year of demonstrated experience in resourcedevelopment and grant administration, including securing externalfunding; managing grant-funded initiatives, deliverables, andreporting requirements
- At least one (1) year of demonstrated experience developing andsustaining partnerships with employers, industry organizations,workforce and economic development entities, and other externalstakeholders to strengthen program relevance, expand studentopportunities, and respond to regional workforce needs

- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicateproblems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work arevaried and unpredictable in scope and volume
- Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations basedon policy, procedure, practice and existing regulations
- Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff tomeet College and campus deliverables
- Ability to use computer applications and enterprise systems,including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, andpresentation software
