Job Summary:

This role is responsible for leadership in planning, organizing,administering, and evaluating non-credit instruction and servicesfor the campus. The Division of Community Education is comprised oftwo institutes: Career and College Preparation, and PersonalEnrichment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Performance Requirements*

  • Promotes, leads, and manages all aspects of day-to-day operationsassociated with community education programs and services,including the selection, training, and supervision of faculty,staff, and student employees
  • Builds collaborative relationships with other deans and facultyto ensure the alignment of college preparation courses withacademic program offerings
  • Develops, implements, and assesses strategies to improve thequality and effectiveness of non-credit programs and services
  • Works with credit programs and the educational outreachdepartment to provide a seamless transition from non-credit coursesto credit programs
  • Cultivates expanded revenue opportunities for the division
  • Assesses the needs of the community to identify educational,civic, recreational, and cultural opportunities for service
  • Oversees the development, administration, delivery and assessmentof programs and services provided in response to identifiedneeds
  • Develops collaborative partnership with community leaders andorganization to maintain and manage the provided learningopportunities
  • Serves as an advocate and community resource
  • Keeps up to date on trends and developments in communityengagement that relates to the communities served
  • Recruits, mentors, and manages the performance of qualifiedstaff

  • Provides leadership and oversight for departmental activities,including workforce planning, performance management, processimprovement, budgeting, and resource allocation
  • Focuses on achieving departmental and organizational objectivesthrough effective management of people, programs, andoperations
  • Leads through supervisors and professional staff by establishingpriorities, supporting accountability, and developing teamperformance

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three (3) or more years of experience developing, launching,expanding, or managing continuing education, community education,lifelong learning, adult education, personal enrichment, or othernon-credit educational programs
  • Three (3) or more years of experience managingrevenue-generating, fee-based, contract-funded, grant-funded, orself-supporting educational programs or services, includingresponsibility for financial performance or sustainability
  • Three (3) or more years of experience developing or overseeingnon-credit programs serving multiple populations across thelifespan, including school-age children, working adults, olderadults, or other community learners
  • At least one (1) year of experience using enrollment data, marketresearch, community needs assessments, financial performance,participant feedback, or other quantitative information to makedecisions regarding the development, expansion, redesign, pricing,or discontinuation of programs
  • At least one (1) year of experience developing or implementingmarketing, outreach, or enrollment strategies for fee-based,continuing education, community education, or other non-creditprograms
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Skilled in delivering high-quality customer service and buildingeffective interpersonal relationships, including strong listening,verbal, and written communication skills
  • Skilled in using computer applications and enterprise systems,including the Microsoft Office suite and the Microsoft 365platform
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlesslyensuring accurate and timely completion, while exhibiting strongattention to detail and organization
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of ateam in collaborative environments, engaging with faculty, staff,and external stakeholders
  • Ability to identify routine issues and escalates non-standardproblems using established procedures in a fast-paced workenvironment
  • Ability to review basic information and follow policies,procedures, and guidelines when completing assigned tasks
  • Ability to coordinate assigned work and communicate effectivelywith faculty and staff to support campus and departmentaloperations
