Job summary

The Home Depot is hiring a DC Assistant General Manager to oversee all operational functions in a large distribution center, ensuring productivity and safe, efficient processes. You will supervise a sizeable team of DC Operations Managers across Inbound, Warehouse, Outbound and Office Operations.

Collaborating with the General Manager, you will shape strategies to maximize productivity, manage expenses, and drive continuous improvements while sustaining an employee-centered, safety-focused

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business or Supply Chain preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Willing to relocate; flexible schedule and ability to work weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist General Managers with evaluating work methods, procedures, controls and staffing to optimize movement and processing of product.
• Provide recommendations on financial, operational, people and process objectives to drive improvement and reduce cost-to-serve.
• Lead operations across inbound, warehouse, outbound and office areas to ensure safety and optimal layout.
• Coach, train, and develop management staff; maintain a union-free, employee-centered environment.
• Champion a culture of safety by following policies and monitoring metrics daily, weekly, and monthly.
