Job summary

Ocean State Job Lot seeks an Area Manager 1 to supervise a DC operations team, optimize workflows, and drive cost efficiency. The role requires leadership across shifts, managing performance, and ensuring safety and compliance within a fast-paced distribution center.

The position emphasizes data-driven decision making, stakeholder communication, and Lean Six Sigma methods to raise productivity, quality, and on-time fulfillment. Strong Spanish skills are preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• 6+ years leading and managing teams in DC, logistics, or related field.
• Experience in large distribution center operations required.
• College degree focused on supply chain, management, or logistics preferred.
• Experience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Strong data-driven decision making with proficiency in spreadsheets and Google tools.
• Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen experience preferred; continuous improvement projects preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment, coaching, and performance reviews for DC teams.
• Develop and oversee schedules to ensure efficient operations.
• Ensure safety compliance and promote a culture of safety.
• Align shift practices with OKRs and drive operational excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the DC.
