Job summary

Ocean State Job Lot is seeking an Area Manager for its Distribution Center. The role leads an operations team within a DC zone and directs workflow to ensure efficient day-to-day operations, aligning with company goals.

The position emphasizes leadership, cost optimization, and meeting customer demands in a multi-department environment. A college degree in supply chain or related field is preferred, with strong data skills and bilingual Spanish helpful.

Qualifications

• 6+ years leading and managing teams.
• Experience in large distribution center operations, logistics, or related field.
• Experience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Data-driven decision making using analytics tools.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets).
• Lean Six Sigma knowledge and Kaizen experience preferred.
• Spanish language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist with team member hiring and discipline.
• Coach teams to meet productivity, quality, and accuracy standards.
• Manage associate performance and provide coaching/feedback.
• Develop and oversee work schedules for efficient ops in the DC.
• Maintain compliance with federal/state safety regulations and promote safety.
• Partner with management to standardize shift practices across DC areas.
• Evaluate shift performance against OKRs and improve operational excellence.
• Ensure DC operations are completed timely and accurately with WMS data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams as needed.
