Ocean State Job Lot is seeking an Area Manager for its Distribution Center, overseeing a zone and directing the team’s workflow to optimize performance and costs. The role focuses on leadership, safety, and cross-functional collaboration to meet customer demand.

The position requires 6+ years of team leadership in a DC setting, a focus on process improvement, and strong data-driven decision making. Evening shift and on-site work are involved in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience leading and managing teams.
• Experience in large distribution center operations, logistics, or related field.
• College degree focused on supply chain, management, or logistics preferred.
• Strong communication with diverse stakeholders required.
• Data-driven decision making and use of analytic tools.
• Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen experience preferred; continuous improvement projects welcome.
• Bilingual Spanish is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist with team hiring and discipline.
• Coach teams to meet productivity, quality, and accuracy standards; provide guidance.
• Manage associate performance, write reviews, and provide feedback.
• Develop, assign, and oversee work schedules to ensure efficient operations.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations; promote a safety culture.
• Standardize shift practices across DC areas with management partners.
• Evaluate shift performance against OKRs and drive improvements.
• Ensure timely and accurate DC operations; verify with warehouse data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the DC.
