Job summary

Advance Auto Parts Inc. is seeking a Distribution Center Maintenance I Technician to perform general and preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery, structures and grounds in a distribution setting.

The role involves repairs on equipment, installation and repair of electrical apparatus, routine maintenance like bulb changes and cleaning, plus building and grounds upkeep. Strong adherence to safety rules and PPE is required.

Qualifications

Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Knowledge of conveyors, security controls, fire protection, building, HVAC, lighting, electrical equipment and structures.
General understanding of hand, power and shop tools.
Ability to read and interpret MSDS documents.
Adherence to safety rules and wear PPE when required.

Responsibilities

Perform general repairs on equipment.
Install and repair electrical apparatus under supervision.
Complete minor maintenance like changing light bulbs and cleaning equipment.
Paint, plaster, and perform building and grounds maintenance tasks including plumbing and carpentry.
Perform basic inspections and preventive maintenance on material handling batteries and conveying systems.
Assist skilled personnel in assembling/disassembling pipe systems and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
