Job summary

Advance Auto Parts Inc. is seeking a Distribution Center Maintenance I Technician to perform general and preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery, structures and grounds. The role involves repairs, electrical work, and routine upkeep to ensure efficient distribution center operations.

The technician will follow safety guidelines, read blueprints/diagrams, and assist skilled maintenance staff with various systems. High school diploma and 1–2 years of related maintenance experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; related maintenance experience preferred.
• Must pass Basic Mechanical and Industrial Mechanical Skill Assessment.
• Knowledge of conveyor systems, security controls, fire protection, HVAC, lighting, electrical and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs on equipment.
• Install/repair electrical apparatus and components under supervision.
• Complete minor routine maintenance like changing light bulbs and cleaning equipment.
• Paint, plaster and perform building/grounds maintenance incl. plumbing and carpentry.
• Perform preventive maintenance on material handling batteries and conveying systems.
• Assist skilled staff with pipe systems, hydraulic/pneumatic equipment maintenance.
• Assist with gauges, valves and pressure regulator maintenance.
• Follow safety guidelines to ensure efficient operations.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
• Store hazardous materials properly at end of shift.
