Job summary
Hire Breakthrough in New York, NY, seeks an experienced DB2 Database Administrator for the IBM z/OS mainframe environment. This on-site role focuses on performance, reliability, availability, and recoverability of DB2 databases on the z/OS platform.
Responsibilities include tuning, RUNSTATS/REORG, backup/recovery planning, and data replication with IBM InfoSphere Data Replication. Must be able to work on-site in Manhattan and hold US work authorization.
Qualifications
- Hands-on DB2 z/OS DBA experience on mainframe
- Strong DB2 v12+ on IBM z/OS knowledge
- Proficiency with RUNSTATS, REORG, image copy and recovery
- Backup, DR principles and practices
- High-availability environment experience
- On-site in Manhattan, NY
- US work authorization, no sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Administer DB2 v12+ databases on IBM z/OS
- Tune performance for high throughput
- Run core DB2 utilities: RUNSTATS, REORG, image copy
- Design and test backup, recovery, and DR strategies
- Manage data replication with IBM InfoSphere Data Replication
- Monitor health and resolve incidents to minimize downtime
- Support capacity planning, storage management, and security
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during maintenance windows
- Maintain documentation of configurations and recovery plans
