Job summary
COMMON - A Users Group is seeking a highly experienced Database Administrator with deep expertise in DB2 for z/OS and enterprise mainframe environments to support mission-critical database infrastructure for our customer.
This advanced-level role requires extensive experience managing, optimizing, supporting, and recovering large-scale production databases, with onsite Tallahassee operations and a long-term contract.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of combined database administration experience involving: DB2 for z/OS, Oracle, and SQL Server.
- Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS administration, performance tuning, upgrades, and recovery.
- Deep familiarity with IBM z/OS and related mainframe tooling.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily database administration and operational support across DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, and GIS environments.
- Plan, design, implement, and support enterprise database structures.
- Monitor and tune database performance.
- Support DB2 for z/OS upgrades, catalog maintenance, and point-in-time recovery.
- Review SQL code and provide database optimization recommendations.
- Develop and maintain DBA procedures and technical documentation.
- Support infrastructure implementation and change-management activities.
- Assist with disaster recovery planning and technical validation.
- Train and mentor other technical staff.
