Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist the operating room team during operative procedures, prepare sterile setups, and maintain instrument turnover. The role requires knowledge of sterile technique, anatomy, and pharmacology, with certification pursued within 12 months of graduation.

You'll work under RN supervision, participate in case turnover, and help ensure patient safety and efficient OR operations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program and obtain certification within 12 months of graduation.
• Lean Six Sigma: White Belt required or achieved.
• Ability to scrub for basic procedures in 2-3 service lines.
• Applies knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology and pharmacology.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team during operative procedures and scrub with surgeons.
• Prepare and inventory sterile setup for operations; position patients.
• Pass instruments, sutures and supplies in accordance with policy.
• Assist in turnover and cleaning of operating rooms.
• Maintain stock and department cleanliness.
• Follow ethics and respect standards in the department.
