Job summary

Dartmouth Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team in a full-time capacity. The role primarily scrubs in the OR, maintaining aseptic technique and supporting circulating duties as needed.

Requirements include graduation from an approved surgical technology program, CST certification, BLS within 30 days, and NH Medical Technician or temporary licensure. Sign-on bonus of $15,000 is available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of surgical technology or program accepted by the Association of Surgical Technologists is required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire is required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is required.
• New Hampshire Medical Technician OR Temporary Medical Technician licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains aseptic technique while providing a quiet environment in the OR suite, respecting the dignity and privacy of the patient.
• Shares in OR suite preparation. Uses and maintains specialized equipment and supplies used for specific surgical procedures.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon to expedite the procedure.
• Utilizes surgical instruments and knowledge of the step-by-step sequences for surgical procedures.
• Assumes shared responsibility for proper handling of surgical specimens.
• Assists in training and orientation of new employees.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
