Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks an RN Shift Lead I for St James Hospital in Butte, MT. This part-time, day-shift role provides leadership and clinical expertise on the shift and coordinates unit resources to match census and acuity.

The position requires a BSN (or equivalent) and Montana RN licensure with BLS on hire; patient care and staff support are core duties, with potential to float between departments as needed.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required within 4 years unless 15 years of acute care service.
• Current State of Montana RN license.
• BLS certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and/or provides direct patient care; supports staff in addressing patient/family concerns, physician concerns, risk management, safety.
• Responds to patient emergencies; acts as charge or lead for disasters.
• Collaborates with staffing office to adjust staff numbers for census changes during shift.
• Communicates with the oncoming Charge Nurse about census, staffing, admissions, discharges, and issues impacting assignments.
• Supports unit management in productivity, staffing, and timekeeping; coordinates unit activities.
• Participates in hospital committees as unit representative as needed.
• Promotes Intermountain Health mission, vision, and values; adheres to service behavior standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• May float to other departments within competency; may be placed on-call during a scheduled shift.
• Regular attendance on site during scheduled hours is required.
