Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support medication distribution, inventory management, and cross-functional care within a high reliability hospital setting in Connecticut. You will assist pharmacists, handle automated dispensing, and ensure accurate labeling and delivery to patient care units.

The role requires 6 months of pharmacy tech or healthcare experience, a valid state registration/license eligibility, and strong math and tech skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree desirable.
• 6-months Pharmacy technician experience or healthcare experience required.
• Current registration/licensure as Pharmacy Technician or eligible to obtain prior to start date; PTCB certification within 12 months.
• Proficiency in mathematical calculations; strong computer and technology skills.

Responsibilities

• Medication Distribution: pick, prepare, package, label, and deliver medications to patient care units.
• Medication Inventory Management: maintain par levels, rotate stock, and remove expired meds.
• Cross-Functional Proficiency: perform calculations and assist in preparation and documentation.
• Technical Expertise: use EMR, ADS, barcode systems, and inventory software; troubleshoot as needed.
• Communication: respond to nursing/provider inquiries; preserve HIPAA compliance.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and support overall pharmacy operations.
