Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support medication distribution and inventory management across hospital units. You will work with pharmacists to ensure safe dispensing, proper labeling, and timely delivery of medications.

The role requires basic technical proficiency with EMR, ADS, and barcode systems, plus strong attention to detail and patient-focused communication. On-call flexibility and hospital experience are a plus.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Pharmacy technician training preferred.
6 months pharmacy technician or healthcare experience required; hospital experience preferred.
Current registration/licensure as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of employment; PTCB certification preferred or required within 12 months.

Responsibilities

Distribute medications accurately and efficiently to patient care units and storage areas.
Maintain medication inventory and par levels; rotate stock based on expiration and usage.
Operate and troubleshoot pharmacy technology and documentation systems.
Document medication handling and controlled substances as required by policy and regulation.
Communicate with nursing, providers, and staff to ensure safe and timely medication delivery.
