Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the medication distribution, inventory management, and cross-functional pharmacy workflows across hospital units.

The position requires attention to detail, strong math and computer skills, and familiarity with EMR and automation systems. Expect day/evening shifts with on-call as needed in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree desirable.
• 6 months pharmacy technician or healthcare experience required; hospital experience preferred.
• Current pharmacy technician license/registration; PTCB certification required within 12 months.
• Proficiency in calculations and computer/tech systems.

Responsibilities

• Distribute and deliver medications to patient care units.
• Maintain inventory, rotate stock, and remove expired meds.
• Assist pharmacist with compounding and aseptic preparation as needed.
• Operate and troubleshoot pharmacy technology and automation.
• Communicate with nursing and providers while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
• Support department goals aligned with organizational strategies.
