Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Columbia, SC is hiring a Diesel Technician. Starting pay is $26-$34/hr, with OT after 40 hrs and a 6am–5pm M–F shift. ASE testing is paid and certs earn a bump.

You will inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel refuse trucks, including hydraulic/electrical/brake/suspension systems, perform preventive maintenance, and keep vehicles ready for daily operations. Benefits include PTO, tool allowance, boot reimbursement, health benefits after 60 days, 401(k) after 6 months.

Qualifications

ASE certification preferred; willingness to obtain required.
Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel refuse trucks.
Ability to perform preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

Perform daily inspections and diagnose issues on diesel refuse trucks.
Repair hydraulic, electrical, brake, suspension, and PTO systems.
Troubleshoot mechanical problems to keep trucks operating safely.
Execute preventive maintenance to keep fleet ready for daily operation.

Job description

Starting Pay: $26-$34/hr. More pay available based on experience, certifications and skill level.

Starting Shift: 6am-5pm M-F. OT after 40hrs worked!

We pay for ASE testing! Once you get your certs is .25 bump per T Series ASE.

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.
