Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Building Maintenance Engineer for our Corporate HQ in Midtown Manhattan.

This role supports a variety of building systems with house-wide preventive maintenance and hands-on repairs, operating on premium daytime hours (6:00 AM – 3:00 PM) with no overnight schedule. The engineer will manage work orders, supervise external contractors, and ensure safety, efficiency, and peak performance of facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade school completion, with 4–5 years of related experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Experience in facilities maintenance and safety compliance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assign work orders and estimate time and materials for repairs; maintain inventory of supplies and tools.
• Perform maintenance and repairs to buildings, plumbing, structural elements, furniture, fire/life-safety, and lighting systems.
• Comply with codes, regulations, and company safety directives.
• Develop and implement an energy management program to optimize system efficiency.
• Oversee external contractors and inspect work to ensure quality and compliance.
• Lead preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and perform emergency repairs as needed.
