Job summary

ADAPT Community Network seeks an Assistant Director of Program Services to lead high-quality, person-centered programming for individuals served. You’ll supervise staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide program development while fostering independence, dignity, and inclusion in a safe environment.

Under supervision of the Program Director, you’ll oversee daily operations, manage budgets, and drive expansion initiatives across NY locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related discipline required.
• At least three (3) years of progressive supervisory/management experience in developmental disabilities strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers, email, and common software applications.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, individuals served, families, and external partners.
• Must maintain strict confidentiality.
• Knowledge of adaptive equipment, wheelchairs, and devices used by individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Passion for ADAPT's mission and commitment to the nonprofit disability sector.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, supervise, evaluate, and support program and clinical staff with coaching and development.
• Design, coordinate, and implement program goals aligned with mission and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, monitor, and evaluate treatment and service plans for individualized care.
• Ensure adherence to OPWDD, state, and federal regulations; implement quality assurance processes.
• Collect program data for funding, compliance, and reports; prepare annual evaluations and projections.
• Assist with budgeting and financial reporting for the department.
• Coordinate in-service trainings and develop curricula for staff.
• Assign caseloads and oversee attendance to meet capacity targets.
• Manage intake and discharge processes and coordinate services.
• Oversee incident investigations and provide safety training.
• Support long-range departmental plans and expansion initiatives.
• Serve on agency committees and maintain communication with families and partners.
• Uphold residents' rights in all programs and activities.
