Job summary

Northwest Human Services, Inc. in Salem, OR seeks a Day Center Support Staff member to help provide a safe, welcoming environment for clients and assist with daily operations and service delivery.

You will use empathy, active listening, and trauma-informed care to connect individuals with housing, healthcare, and other community resources as part of an integrated team serving people experiencing homelessness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Oregon driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
• CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Food Handler Card.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and engage clients with compassion, professionalism, and respect.
• Help maintain a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment during daily operations.
• Connect clients with community resources, services, and referrals.
• Support daily program operations, facility cleanliness, and shared spaces.
• Monitor the safety and security of the day center while reinforcing program expectations.
