Job summary

Northwest Human Services, Inc. is a nonprofit organization serving Marion and Polk counties with a 24-hour youth program. As a Youth Development Specialist, you will work with unsheltered young adults, ages 18-24, to provide positive interventions and referrals while supervising youth in an overnight shelter.

Shifts include evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays. On-call coverage varies with program needs; you may be scheduled for 1–3 shifts per month and will attend staff meetings to

Qualifications

• Associates degree in psychology, sociology, human development, education, criminal justice, or related field.
• Minimum one year experience with youth/young adult population.
• Experience with at-risk youth/young adults preferred.
• Oregon Driver's License and proof of auto insurance required.
• Criminal records check and motor vehicle report required prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision of youth staying in overnight shelter.
• Maintain safety and security during shifts.
• Interact with youth in the morning hours and provide emotional/crisis support.
• Light cleaning and upkeep of the facility.
• Assist with program documentation and compliance monitoring.
• Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and participate in program development.
