Job summary

AMroute LLC in Atlanta, GA is seeking an onsite field-support engineer with strong customer communication and hardware repair skills. The role involves hands-on server work, parts replacement, and after-hours coverage to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities include coordinating with dispatched engineers, managing parts/inventory, maintaining documentation, and performing system updates and testing. Experience with Dell support a plus and GPU/NIC familiarity is welcome.

Qualifications

• Strong customer communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Comfort with hardware repair, hands-on within servers, parts replacement.
• Prior Dell FSE experience is a plus.
• Nvidia GPU / NIC experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Escort and coordinate with dispatched field engineers.
• Manage parts shipping, receiving, and inventory.
• Maintain and update environment documentation (serial numbers, elevations, runbooks).
• Coordinate with colocation teams for power, cooling, and facility maintenance.
• Execute customer-directed system and version updates.
• Proactively monitor servers and notify customers of issues.
• Open and manage service requests; triage and coordinate break/fix with Dell support.
• Perform troubleshooting, log collection, and follow vendor resolutions.
• Support firmware upgrades and hardware break/fix activities.
• Handle parts replacement and hardware deployment.
• Perform OS installation, GPU configuration, and testing.
• Conduct system testing and validation for operational readiness.
• Handle urgent issues as escalation & coordination point.
• Ticket management/Tracking.
• Great customer service and communication.

Location: Atlanta, GA onsite.

Details

• Resident must be flexible in working during the weekends and holidays when customer requires.
• Strong Customer communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work well within an onsite team in a dynamic environment
• Flexible schedule, including ability to support after hours and/or weekend schedules

**Resource needs to be comfortable on the HW repair side. As some of the role may be providing OSE/FSE support, they need to be experienced having their hands inside the server, replacing parts. They need to have enough experience, where they are confident in their skills to support and add new skills as needed. Prior Dell FSE experience a plus.

Nice to have skills:
